Privacy and student data
Plain language, because families deserve it. Last updated 2026.
Parents own the account
Only a parent or guardian creates an account. Students practice through a profile inside that account, so no child email address is ever required or collected.
What we store
A student first name or nickname, grade, optional test date and goal, and the practice record: questions answered, answers chosen, time taken, and the skill estimates calculated from them.
What we do not do
No advertising, no selling of data, no public leaderboards, and no sharing of a student's practice record with other families or schools.
Family isolation
Every practice record is tied to a student profile that belongs to one parent account. Database rules enforce that isolation on the server, not just in the app.
Deletion
A parent can delete a student profile or the whole account from Account settings. Deleting a student removes their practice history, mastery estimates, and reports.
Practice scores are estimates
Test Arena results are practice estimates for planning only. They are not official SHSAT scores and we are not affiliated with the New York City Department of Education.
